RIU Hotels & Resorts continues to add to its family-friendly and adults-only properties.
RIU Hotels & Resorts all-inclusive properties are located in the best beach destinations of Mexico from Cancun, Costa Mujeres and Riviera Maya along the Caribbean Sea to Riviera Nayarit, Mazatlán, and Los Cabos along the Pacific coast. Each resort offers something new for guests, with many boasting recent renovations and high-end concepts with even more upgrades on the way.
New in Cancun
The Hotel Riu Palace Peninsula has reopened this year following a complete transformation, featuring a contemporary redesign of all 618 guest rooms and public spaces. New to the property is the Elite Club by RIU, an adults-only section providing a premium private experience with exclusive dining, a private pool and bar, dedicated check-in, special welcome gifts, and VIP perks that include upgraded room service and premium liquors and aromatherapy. The area also now offers Elite Club Swim-Up Villa Suites, each featuring their own private pools.
Cancun is also home to the newest RIU family resort, Hotel Riu Ventura, which opened late last year at the stunning white-sand beach of Playa Delfines. The resort boasts elevated amenities such as friends and family rooms, an adults-only pool bar, two pickleball courts, a spa and wellness center, and eight restaurants.

New in Riviera Nayarit
The newly reimagined Riu Flamingos in Riviera Nayarit was renovated in late 2025. The family resort boasts six swimming pools in total—one of them with a swim-up bar and two children’s pools with slides. For an adults-only stay in Riviera Nayarit, RIU Palace Pacifico features the Elite Club by RIU, three swimming pools and a spa and wellness center following its recent renovation.
Additions for Adults Only: RIU Rivera Maya Complex
Two properties in the RIU Riviera Maya Complex have been enhanced with renovations and new additions this year. As of September 2026, the Hotel Riu Palace Mexico has undergone a full renovation and is now an Elite Club Adults-Only property. In addition to the complete refurbishment of all guest rooms and public areas, the resort now includes a new spa, sports bar, and the Elite Club by RIU which offers VIP rooms, a private pool and an exclusive restaurant. Hotel Riu Palace Riviera Maya has also added an Elite Club by RIU, and has dedicated areas for both adults and families to enjoy.
More Excitement at RIU Properties
Riu Hotels & Resorts continues to elevate its properties across Mexico with new accommodations and elevated experiences. In Los Cabos, guests can choose from three hotels, including the exclusive Hotel Riu Palace Baja California, which recently introduced the Elite Club by Riu, and Hotel Riu Santa Fe, now featuring new friends and family room categories. Those who are looking for a family-friendly stay can also enjoy Hotel Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas, which offers a welcoming stay for guests of all ages. In Costa Mujeres, the newly opened and adults-only Hotel Riu Latino offers five swimming pools, including two with swim-up bars, along with a spa and wellness center and water park.
