Tjuvholmen (Thief Islet) used to be a haven for smugglers, thieves, and scoundrels. Today it is home to THE THIEF, a modern hideaway - right in the middle of downtown Oslo. If anything gets stolen there nowadays, it’s usually us stealing our guests away from their everyday lives.

THE THIEF has filled this retreat with top international art pieces, carefully selected designer furniture, global Nordic cuisine, top quality spa, and cosmopolitan bars. “Escapees” are able to enjoy refreshing dips in the sea at the Tjuvholmen beach or stroll off the islet across the footbridge to the bustling Aker Brygge harbor area. Most of our guests come here to get away from it all, and for the relaxing atmosphere of THE THIEF.

Standard Room

There is nothing standard about THE THIEF, not even our 24 m² (258 ft²) standard rooms. The same high quality runs throughout the hotel: The comfort, the efficiency and the cleverly thought out layout of the rooms. We are sure you will enjoy the floor-to-ceiling windows, the private balcony, bathroom with rainshower, and king size bed from Hilding Anders. Possible to connect with a superior room.

Superior Room

Our 30 m² (323 ft²) superior rooms have the same sleek wooden floors and the floor-to-ceiling windows of our standard rooms. They are just a little more spacious. Sometimes a little extra leg-room is just what you need to fully enjoy your hideaway on our little island in the city. Some of our superior rooms also have a bathtub.

Deluxe Room

Wake up to soothing views of the Oslo archipelago and the beautiful fjord. The stunning sea vistas from a private balcony could make you reluctant to ever leave your 30 m² (323 ft²) deluxe room. Should you decide to stay holed up in your little paradise, we’d be happy, of course, to bring your breakfast to your room.

Suite

Let your mornings start with a fresh sea breeze in this spacious and comfortable 43 m² (463 ft²) suite that also boasts a large bathroom with bathtub and/or rainshower. The south facing view to the beautiful Oslofjord. Two private balconies, separate living room with a work desk, sitting area, and private bedroom.

Apparatjik Suite

Enjoy a different and stimulating hotel experience in this 43 m² (463 ft²) suite filled with video art, music, disco textiles and art installations signed by A-ha’s Magne Furuholmen and his Apparatjik supergroup. Everything you get in a suite, just a bit different.

Executive Suite

Setting the stage for harmony and sumptuous comfort, our 63 m² (678 ft²) Executive suites are designed to make your stay extra special. Staying true to the hotel's sophisticated and distinctive balance between unique objects and comfortable furniture, designer Anemone Wille Våge has implemented iconic pieces from brands such as MaxAlto and Citterio. Two canal facing balconies, separate bedroom and living area, a bathroom with bathtub and rain shower, a separate private toilet, and a fully equipped pantry are just some of the lavish amenities aimed to let you fully indulge yourself and relax.

THIEF Suite

The spacious 75 m² (807 ft²) signature THIEF suite on the 8th floor is a true haven. It features two balconies facing the beautiful Oslofjord as well as the canals of Tjuvholmen. It also features two bathrooms with bathtub and shower, separate living room, one bedroom and possibility to connect with a deluxe room and Oslo suite.

Oslo Suite

Our largest penthouse suite, overlooking the Oslofjord, is 94 m² (1011 ft²) of pure delight. It includes a separate bedroom, two private balconies, walk-in closet, a bathroom with bathtub and rainshower, dining area, fully equipped pantry, living area, work desk, and original artworks by Sir Peter Blake to give the Oslo Suite the feel of an exclusive private apartment, but with top service. It is also possible to connect with a deluxe room and THIEF suite. To top it off, there is a private rooftop terrace for enjoying the fresh sea breeze.

THIEF RESTAURANT

The chefs at THIEF RESTAURANT creates delicious dishes using local and Nordic produce cooked with French techniques with a decidedly Norwegian spirit. Our elegant yet warm dining room is surrounded by unique pieces of art such as the striking painting by Damien Hirst “spin” This sets the perfect atmosphere whether for a casual acquaintance or to create that memorable celebration.

THIEF ROOFTOP

Welcome to THIEF ROOFTOP – our social rooftop bar with a spectacular view of Oslofjorden and the city. Come up and enjoy the unique location and unforgettable view that makes our rooftop terrace the perfect place to eat, drink, and enjoy the outdoors. We offer a flavorful 3-course menu with optional choices for both fish and meat. Our skilled bartenders on the roof create exciting and refreshing cocktails that are suitable for any occasion.

On weekends we have live DJs and various musical entertainment. The glass walls and heat lamps keep you warm and comfortable, so you can enjoy the outdoors even when the summer nights are not as warm.
