2024 marks 80 years since the decriminalization of homosexuality in Sweden and marks 15 years of full equal marriage. The country’s capital, Stockholm, will celebrate with Stockholm Pride, the Nordics’ largest Pride celebration. There will be queer events year-round in the “open city” at the many Stockholm LGBT establishments including hotels, restaurants, and attractions, and by other partners committed to upholding Stockholm’s reputation as one of the world’s most diverse and inclusive cities.
Sweden’s newest hotel will open in 2024 in central Karlstad. Hotel Fratelli, aka Brothers Hotel, is a project by the Olsson brothers who are well-known restaurateurs in Värmland. The hotel will have 85 guest rooms, a restaurant, bar, and orangery for those looking to escape the everyday hustle and bustle.
