Dive deeper into the history, culture, and natural beauty of Europe with Globus’ guided tours.

As travelers, there are some destinations that call us to explore even deeper and farther than the main attractions. From the mist-covered Scottish highlands and the castles of Ireland to the history-rich cobblestone streets of Italy and the picture-perfect isles of Greece, Globus takes you beyond the surface-level sites and into the heart of it all.

Explore the Best of Great Britain & Ireland

Great Britain and Ireland are filled with more than their fair share of gems just waiting to be discovered. Each destination brings its own irresistible mix of flavors, landscapes, and stories—think coveted Grasmere gingerbread, a scenic drive across the Isle of Skye where rugged mountains and striking sea cliffs meet the Atlantic Ocean, and iconic landmarks like St. Paul’s Cathedral, Stonehenge, and the many centuries-old castles dotted across England, Ireland, and Scotland. Whether you’re a foodie, a nature lover, or a history buff—or all three—every stop has a way of delighting every part of you. And with free time built into every Globus tour, you’ll also have plenty of moments to wander off on your own and experience it all your way.

Dive into Italian History & Culture

Travel to Italy, where opportunities for exploration abound, both on its popular mainland and on its lesser-visited islands. Rome is the country’s most visited city for a reason, with wish list-worthy sites like the Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain, and the Vatican within its bounds. Once you’ve got the basics under your belt, it’s time to travel farther and wider. Savor gelato in Cinque Terre, where the oceanfront pastel buildings make for the perfect backdrop. Venture to Venice, where cars are swapped for boats in this one-of-a-kind canal-mapped gem. Or explore Southern Italy’s Alberobello area, home to the stalactite- and stalagmite-filled caves of Grotti di Castellana.

Beyond mainland Italy, the country’s islands— specifically Sicily—are more than worth visiting. Go wine tasting in Marsala, peek at ancient mosaics at Piazza Armerina’s Villa Romana del Casale, and dine on Sicilian specialties like cannoli and arancini all over the island.

Island Hop Your Way Through Greece

With centuries of history imbued into its thousands of beautiful islands, Greece is a prime destination for exploration. Start in the capital city of Athens, where the most well-known sites in the country await. Stare in awe at the iconic Acropolis, then race across the Panathenaic Stadium just as many Olympians did prior. From there, you’ll be enraptured. Luckily, the Hellenic Republic has much more to explore beyond Athens.

In Heraklion, the largest city on the Greek island of Crete, walk along thousands-year-old streets to impressive landmarks, like the Minoan Palace of Knossos, the St. Minas Cathedral, and the Church of Titus. In Santorini, snap literally hundreds of photos of the blue-and-white palette of an island, framed by the even more vibrant Aegean Sea. And in lesser-known Meteora, visit one of the half-dozen active monasteries perched upon natural sandstone columns, once only accessible by the toughest of treks—and as the cherry on top, the region’s name translates to “suspended in the air”.
